Harry and Cedric reach the cup at the same time, but only because Harry went back to help Cedric when he was caught up in some magical plants (possibly Devil’s Snare). Even though Cedric insists that Harry take the Cup first, Harry suggests that they touch it together, as co-winners of the tournament. However Moody has turned the Cup into a Portkey, and Cedric and Harry are whisked away to the cemetery outside of the Riddle house, where Voldemort can perform the ceremony that will return him to his corporeal form.

Krum, Fleur, Cedric, and Harry were the Champions chosen to be in the tournament because the Goblet of Fire chose them. The original ones were Krum, Fleur, and Cedric but someone put Harry's name into the goblet and out came his name. This gave Hogwarts two champions, Durmstrang one, and Beauxbaton one. No one was happy about Harry being in the Tournament especially Ron. Ron thought that Harry had managed to put him name in the goblet and was really angry at Harry for not telling him. Later on, after the first task, Ron tells Harry that he's sorry and that he believes Harry when he says that he didn't put his name in the goblet.
